These pipes are made of Delrin, and have a sound similar to the Great Highland Pipes, but they are not nearly as loud in volume. The chanter is pitched in concert A. The drones consist of a bass, alto, and tenor drone, giving the pipes a nice overall drone sound. The bag is synthetic, chanter reed is cane, and the drones use specially designed Ezeedrone border pipe drone reeds. These pipes have the perfect blend for playing with a fiddle player. Come complete with Chanter reed cap and padded carry case. Made in Canada.
How to Tune the Pipers Choice Border Pipe
1. Shut off the Bass and Baritone Drones and tune the Tenor to high A on the chanter.
2. Turn on the Bass and tune it to match the Tenor drone.
3. Turn on the Baritone and pitch it to blend with the Tenor and Bass. It may be helpful to plat E on the chanter when tuning the Baritone as the E on the chanter and the Baritone are the same pitch.
All pipes are tested and set-up prior to shipment.
